If you are in home health, NAHC is asking you to call your Congressional representatives to try to prevent imposition of a home health co-pay. Here is the announcement:
Members of the Forum and Homecare Listserves:
As we’ve reported before, the congressional Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (the “Supercommittee”) is seriously considering proposals to impose a Medicare home health copay. Their deadline for coming up with a deficit reduction package is next Wednesday, November 23.
We’ve set this Thursday, November 17, as our national “No Copay” call in day. Let’s “burn up the phone lines” to our Senators and Representatives on Thursday with the message “Oppose Medicare Home Health Copays.” We want to pay special attention to our Congressional targets in each state (see attached list) to ensure they are flooded with calls.
To make a call you may click here: Call Your Legislators. There you will find the contact information for your Senators and Representative and some brief talking points you may like to include in your telephone call. The most important thing is to let them know you are a constituent and describe for them the devastating impact a copay would have on home health beneficiaries and those who care for them in your state/district. When calling, ask to speak to the staffer who handles Medicare issues.
Please forward this message to all of your employees, coworkers, and others and urge that they make a call on Thursday.
